The Story Behind This Version

This was the version that almost didn't happen.

Eight days. One person. No access to the big AI models everyone else gets to lean on. And out of those eight days, a full 24 hours went only to compiling — not building, not fixing, just waiting for the build to finish under the kind of network restrictions that turn a five-minute task into an afternoon. Every dependency, every SDK pull, every signed build had to fight through the same sanctions that have shaped this entire project from day one.

The previous architecture had reached its ceiling. Adding Android and Web properly meant not patching the old foundation again, but tearing it down and rebuilding from zero — new structure, new sync logic, new rendering paths, all while keeping the parts of Paxalia that already worked from breaking under their own users.

There was no team to split the load with. No senior engineer to review a tricky merge at 2am. No frontier AI model on hand to offload the heavy thinking to, the way better-funded teams take for granted. Just the same five years of hard-earned instinct, a keyboard, and a deadline that didn't care about any of that.

And it still shipped. Android went live. The Web app went live at app.paxalia.com — no install, no store fees, no gatekeepers standing in the way for the first time in this entire journey. The app that came out the other side wasn't just "also on more platforms." It was rebuilt leaner: roughly 10 times smaller in footprint, and measured against the same benchmarks, performing roughly 10 times faster — same features, same depth, a fraction of the weight.

This version carries no illusions about what comes next. There was no time budgeted for a long support tail — after one month, this version stands on its own, exactly as it was shipped, while the next chapter already begins. That's not a flaw to apologize for. It's the honest shape of what building alone, under real constraints, against a real clock actually looks like.

Not giving up was never a slogan here. It was the only plan that was ever on the table.
