Creating & Editing Notes

Notes are rich‑text documents that live inside your workspace. This guide shows you how to create, write, and edit notes using the powerful Quill editor.

Creating a note

  1. Open the workspace and tap the Notes tab.
  2. Tap the + button to create a new note.
  3. Enter a title for your note.
  4. Start writing in the rich‑text editor.
  5. Tap Save to store the note.

The Quill editor

The Quill editor gives you full control over your note's formatting. Here's what you can do:

Text formatting

  • BoldCtrl+B (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+B (Mac)
  • ItalicCtrl+I (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+I (Mac)
  • UnderlineCtrl+U (Windows/Linux) or Cmd+U (Mac)
  • Strikethrough — from the toolbar

Text styling

  • Font family — choose from 15+ Google Fonts.
  • Font size — small, normal, large, extra large.
  • Text colour — choose from preset colours (Pro gets a full color picker).
  • Background colour — highlight text.

Lists and alignment

  • Bullet lists — create unordered lists.
  • Numbered lists — create ordered lists.
  • Text alignment — left, centre, right, justify.

Editing a note

  1. Open the workspace and tap the Notes tab.
  2. Find the note you want to edit.
  3. Tap the note to open it.
  4. Make your changes in the editor.
  5. Tap Save to save your changes.

Auto‑save

Paxalia automatically saves your note every few seconds while you're editing. This means you never lose your work — even if you close the app unexpectedly.

A small status indicator at the bottom of the editor shows "Saving…" or "Saved" to let you know when your changes have been saved.

Word count

The editor shows a live word count at the bottom of the screen. This helps you keep track of how much you've written and stay within limits if needed.

Choosing paper colour

You can change the paper colour of your note:

  1. In the editor, tap the paper colour button in the toolbar.
  2. Select a colour from the palette.
  3. The note's background will update instantly.

Free users get 9 preset colours. Pro users get a full colour picker.

Using templates

You can start from a pre‑built template to save time:

  1. In the editor, tap the Template button.
  2. Select a template from the list.
  3. The template content will be inserted into the editor.
  4. Customise it as needed.
