Goals Overview

Goals in Paxalia help you track progress toward meaningful achievements. Each workspace has its own goals, organised into goal books — collections of related goals that share a common theme or project.

What are goals?

A goal is a specific achievement you want to accomplish. Each goal has:

  • Description — what you want to achieve.
  • Completion status — whether the goal is completed or still open.
  • Creation date — when the goal was created.
  • Last updated — when the goal was last modified.

Goals are always grouped into goal books. A goal book is a collection of goals that belong together — for example, "Q3 Goals", "Sprint 1", or "Personal Development".

Why use goals?

Goals give you direction. They help you:

  • Focus — know exactly what you're working toward.
  • Measure progress — see how far you've come and what's left to do.
  • Stay motivated — celebrate completed goals and keep moving forward.
  • Connect with your timer — attach timer sessions to goals for full context.

These limits apply per workspace.

How goals connect to the timer

Goals are connected to your timer sessions. When you start a timer session, you can attach it to a timeline, and timelines can be linked to goals. This gives you full context — you can see exactly how much time you've spent working toward each goal.

Goal progress tracking

Each goal has a completion status. You can mark a goal as completed when you achieve it. The dashboard shows your overall goal progress as a visual ring chart, making it easy to see how close you are to completing all your goals.

Open goals are also displayed on the dashboard with progress bars, showing you exactly which goals need attention.
