Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA)

Two‑Factor Authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to your account. When enabled, you'll need to enter a verification code from your authenticator app after logging in.

Why use 2FA?

2FA protects your account even if your password is compromised. With 2FA enabled, anyone trying to log in will need both your password and a time‑based code from your authenticator app.

How to set up 2FA

1. Open Paxalia and go to Settings.
2. Tap Two‑Factor Authentication.
3. Tap Enable 2FA.
4. Scan the QR code with your authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar).
5. Enter the 6‑digit code from your authenticator app.
6. Tap Verify to confirm.

Backup codes

When you enable 2FA, you'll receive a set of backup codes. These codes can be used to log in if you lose access to your authenticator app.

Important: Save your backup codes in a safe place. They are the only way to access your account if you lose your authenticator app.

Each backup code can be used only once. You can generate new backup codes at any time.

Logging in with 2FA

When you log in with 2FA enabled:

1. Enter your username and password.
2. Open your authenticator app.
3. Enter the 6‑digit verification code shown in the app.
4. You are logged in.

If you don't have access to your authenticator app, you can use one of your backup codes instead.

Disabling 2FA

To disable 2FA:

1. Open Paxalia and go to Settings.
2. Tap Two‑Factor Authentication.
3. Tap Disable 2FA.
4. Enter your current 2FA code.
5. Confirm the action.

Note: Disabling 2FA reduces the security of your account. Only disable it if absolutely necessary.
