Timer Overview
The timer is the heart of Paxalia. It helps you track focused work sessions, understand how you spend your time, and build consistent habits.
Each workspace has its own timer. Starting the timer in one workspace does not affect the timer in another workspace.
Timer controls
The timer has four main controls:
| Button | Action | Description |
|---|---|---|
| ▶ Play | Start | Starts the timer. The timer begins counting up from zero. |
| ⏸ Pause | Pause | Pauses the timer. The timer stops counting but keeps the accumulated time. |
| ▶ Resume | Resume | Resumes a paused timer. The timer continues counting from where it stopped. |
| ⏹ Stop | Stop | Stops the timer and resets it to zero. Any unsaved time is lost. |
| ☁ Upload | Upload | Saves the current timer session to your history. The timer resets to zero. |
How the timer works
- Start — tap ▶ Play to begin tracking time.
- Work — the timer counts up as you work. The display shows hours, minutes, and seconds.
- Pause — tap ⏸ Pause to take a break. The timer pauses and keeps your progress.
- Resume — tap ▶ Resume to continue working. The timer continues from where it paused.
- Upload — when you're done, tap ☁ Upload to save the session to your history.
You can pause and resume as many times as you need during a single session. Each pause is recorded and tracked separately.
Timer display
The timer display shows the current elapsed time in HH : MM : SS format. Below the timer, you can see the current timeline (if any) attached to the session.
Today's history
The timer page also shows today's uploaded sessions. Each session shows:
- Date — the date of the session.
- Start time — when the session started.
- Duration — how long the session lasted.
- Upload time — when the session was uploaded.
You can also see the total time for the day at the bottom of the history list.
Timer and timelines
You can attach timelines to your timer sessions. This helps you understand how your time is distributed across different projects or categories.
