Timer with Timelines

Timelines help you categorise your timer sessions. When you attach a timeline to a session, you can see exactly how much time you spent on each project, category, or activity.

What are timelines in the timer?

When you start a timer session, you can attach a timeline to it. The timeline tells Paxalia what you're working on — for example, "Coding", "Design", or "Writing".

Each session can have one timeline attached. You cannot attach multiple timelines to the same session.

How to attach a timeline

  1. Start the timer.
  2. Tap the Add Timeline button.
  3. Select a timeline from the list.
  4. The timeline will appear below the timer.

You can also attach a timeline before starting the timer. The timeline will remain attached until you stop or upload the session.

Changing a timeline during a session

You can change the timeline at any time during a session:

  1. Tap the Edit button next to the timeline name.
  2. Select a new timeline.
  3. The timeline will update immediately.

This is useful if you switch tasks mid‑session and want to track the time accurately.

Viewing timeline totals

After you upload a session with a timeline, the time is added to that timeline's total. You can see the cumulative time for each timeline in the Timeline section.

This gives you a clear picture of where your time is going. You can see exactly how much time you spend on Coding vs. Design vs. Writing.

Timeline hierarchy

Timelines are organised hierarchically — Year → Month → Day → 24h. When you view a timeline at a higher level, you see the cumulative time from all its children.
